Development of a Frailty Tool
A new study on frailty in IDD has been published by Katherine McKenzie, Hélène Ouellette-Kuntz, and Lynn Martin. They developed a frailty tool using the RAI-Home Care to capture increased vulnerability in individuals in Ontario. Click here to read more.
Katherine McKenzie – MSc Defence
Katherine McKenzie defended her MSc thesis in Public Health Sciences at Queen’s University. Working with MAPS researchers, Katherine developed a measure of frailty in IDD and demonstrated its relationship to admission to long-term care in Ontario.
Future Study – Frailty in Adults with IDD
MAPS Researchers Helene Ouellette-Kuntz and Lynn Martin receive funding from TVN (Technology Evaluation in the Elderly Network) to work with Reena to study frailty in adults with IDD.
